Do I get to choose my location for an internship?
All internship opportunities have the locations specified within the job description.

What will the timing, or the potential start date, of my internship be?
Internships are usually 12 weeks long. Start and end times can vary by role — check with your recruiter regarding your precise start and end dates.

Do I need to be currently enrolled in a full-time course load to be eligible for an internship opportunity?
This varies by internship. For the course load requirements for your specific internship opportunity, refer to the job description. Depending on the type of internship and location, you may still be eligible if you aren’t currently enrolled in a full-time course load.

I’ve applied for an internship before. Is the application process any different for me?
The process for all applicants is the same, regardless of how far you previously progressed in the interview process.

What does a complete application look like?
Each job description outlines what’s necessary. Generally, a complete application includes:

A resume with a visible graduation date (month and year)

Undergraduate/graduate transcripts (in lieu of transcripts, a course list will suffice)

I don’t have a transcript. What should I include instead?
Please send us a tentative course list and full course title/s.

I’ve gained new skills since I applied. Can I update my resume?
If you’ve already been contacted by a member of the hiring team, you can simply send them your updated resume. If you haven’t been contacted, please reapply with your updated resume. Please make sure you list all courses, skills, projects, experiences, and internships/opportunities that you want to highlight.

The process begins with an initial resume screen as roles become available. If roles align with your specialised skills, the recruiting team will reach out to you directly to schedule interviews.

How long after I apply will I hear back from the recruiting team?
There’s no single process or experience; timing can vary and is based on role availability. The general process begins with an initial resume screen as roles become available. If roles or a particular role align with your specialised skills, the recruiting team will reach out to you directly. This can take upwards of 60+ days.

I’ve applied for multiple roles. Can I be considered for all of them?
Yes, all applications are assessed for all open internship opportunities. If we feel your skills align with a role other than the one to which you applied, we’ll reach out to you.

I have an offer deadline. Can I be fast-tracked through the process?
You can include your offer deadline in your cover letter or resume. However, we screen applications based on the roles we have available and the skill sets needed.

How long does the hiring process take?
Process time varies across all our roles and is contingent on role availability. Process times can take 3-4 weeks from initial resume screen review.

Can I withdraw my application?
Yes, if you have a designated point of contact in the hiring process, reach out and let them know you’d like to be withdrawn.

I applied for another role and haven’t heard back. What can I do?
All applications are assessed for all open internship opportunities. We’ll reach out to you if the roles available align with the skills listed in your resume.

No, please apply directly through the Xaana Careers site for the season you’re available.

Will my application be matched with a specific role or product?
Role/project matching happens after interviews are completed and a hiring committee has approved your application to move forward.

When will I find out which project I’ll be working on?
The whole process can take 8-10 weeks, sometimes longer, depending on the project skills requirements.
